Terms of Service & License Agreement

The short version. You buy Muster once, for one device, and you keep it. No subscription, nothing that renews. All sales are final, so look at the screenshots and the docs before you pay. If you start the 7-day trial, it charges the card you saved on day 7 and becomes that license — cancel from your dashboard before then and you pay nothing (section 5). Your code, credentials and data stay on your machine. The numbered terms below are what binds us both. This box is a summary, not a substitute.

These terms are a legal agreement between you and Muster ("we", "us") for the Muster desktop application and this website. By downloading, activating, or using Muster, or by purchasing a license, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Muster.

1. Your license

Muster is a one-time purchase, per device. Each license you buy is a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Muster on one device. Buy the number of devices you need at checkout. You receive one license key per device. A license is bound to the device it is activated on and is not transferable to another device.

You may use Muster for personal or commercial work. The license is granted to you. Buy for an organization and it is granted to that organization, for the number of devices purchased.

Day-to-day work needs no connection to us. Your key is a signed token, and the app checks that signature on your own machine. About once a day, when the app is online, it also asks our server whether the key has been revoked — after a payment dispute, for example. A server it cannot reach does not disable your license. Only an explicit revocation does.

2. What you may not do

  • Resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute your license key or the app.
  • Share a license across more devices than you purchased, or circumvent the licensing, activation, or device-binding mechanisms.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except to the limited extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
  • Use Muster to break the law or to violate the terms of the third-party tools, AI agents, or services you connect to it.

3. Your data, your responsibility

Muster runs on your machine. It connects directly to your own repositories, databases, servers, issue trackers, and AI-agent CLIs — machine to machine, with us out of the path. You are responsible for the credentials you provide, the systems you connect, the AI agents you run, and the actions they take on your data. An agent you launch runs with your own permissions on that machine. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what does and does not reach our servers.

4. Payment and no refunds

A license is a one-time payment in USD, processed by Stripe. All sales are final. We do not offer refunds. So look first. The screenshots are of the shipping app, and the documentation covers every feature in detail. Read both, then buy. If a payment is charged back or disputed successfully, we may revoke the related license key(s).

5. The 7-day trial, and the charge at the end of it

Read this before you start a trial. The trial is not free-and-forget: it becomes a paid license on its own.
  • You save a payment card when you start it. Nothing is charged that day.
  • The trial runs 7 days with every feature, on one device.
  • On day 7 we charge that card $39 once — a single payment, not a subscription — and the trial becomes a perpetual license for that device.
  • To avoid the charge, cancel before day 7 from your dashboard (one click, no email needed). You are charged nothing and you keep every feature until the last day of the trial.
  • We email you a receipt and your new license key when the charge succeeds. We do not send an advance reminder, so the date is stated here, at card entry, and on your dashboard throughout the trial.
  • If the card is declined we retry once, two days later. If it still fails, the trial key stops working and no license is issued.

One trial per email address and per device, ever. A trial license is a license under section 1 in every other respect, except that it carries an expiry date until it converts. The no-refunds rule in section 4 applies to the converting charge — cancelling before day 7 is the way to not be charged.

Statutory withdrawal rights. Where you have a statutory right of withdrawal for digital goods (for example, EU/UK consumers): by purchasing and then activating a license you request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose that right of withdrawal once the license is issued and activated.

6. Updates

Your license covers every version of Muster we publish, at no additional charge, for the device it is activated on. That includes future major versions. There is no maintenance fee and no upgrade fee.

We do not commit to a release schedule, to any particular feature, or to supporting a given operating system version forever. Every update we publish is signed, and the app verifies that signature before it installs anything. You choose when to install one. Updates are governed by these terms unless they come with their own.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

Muster is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Muster will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or business, arising from your use of Muster. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the license giving rise to the claim.

9. Termination

This license terminates automatically if you breach these terms. On termination you must stop using and delete the app. Sections that by their nature should survive (payment, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive termination.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date reflects the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Luxembourg, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
